Birmingham Granulators Supply Worcester Bosch

 in New Recycling Project 2011

 

 

Birmingham Granulators was delighted to be invited by Worcester Bosch, the market leader in domestic heating and hot water systems, to install a recycling system into their premises at Warndon, Worcester. 

 

They were introducing a new environmentally friendly way for disposal of their redundant boilers by granulating the plastic components. 

 

This was an exciting project as it was the first recycling system to be used in this way as previously the traded-in boilers were scrapped.

 

After extensive workshop trials Birmingham Granulators supplied a twin shaft shredder, conveyor with metal detector and final granulation system.

 

The end product of mixed plastics is currently used in the manufacture of building blocks for the housing industry.

 

Michelle Ball, Project Leader and Bob Starkey, Team Leader of Worcester Bosch said “This was new ground for us and we were not entirely sure what machinery would be required to achieve the end result but Birmingham Granulators guided us through the process in a very professional and friendly manner and we are delighted with the whole project”.
